DDSO Classification Review in Client Services, Outreach and Accommodation Services

Members Urged to Complete the Survey

UPDATE: There is a slight glitch with the survey. URCOT endeavour to have it fixed by tommorrow (Wed 11 Jan)

The 2008 EBA required the DHS to undertake a number of reviews relating to classification and description of work of members working in Client Services/Outreach and Accommodation Services.

With respect to Client Services and Outreach, the review is to investigate classification work value, levels and descriptors.

In Accommodation Services the review is to properly describe the work of Level 4 and above and to describe the work of Practice Leader positions for future appointment in the services.

The department has engaged URCOT as consultants to undertake a review and HACSU and some workplace delegates have been involved via central steering group that works with the consultant.

URCOT have experience working with both Unions and Employers on classification issues.

The task of the consultants is to propose a structure and translation arrangement for Client Services/Outreach and propose revised contemporary classification standards or descriptions of the work DDSO staff undertake in Disability Accommodation Services.

As part of the research URCOT has developed a survey for all  DDSO staff  in Disability Client Service, Outreach, Accommodation and Specialist  Services to complete.

The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete and is available at www.surveymonkey.com/s/PK9GZPQ if you require a paper copy please contact Courtney Bentley on 9096 7455 or by email to Courtney.Bentley@dhs.vic.gov.au.

All members are strongly encouraged to complete the survey!

The more the consultants are told about your work the more information they have to ensure the work at each level in the DDSO structure is properly described. This in turn provides staff with clearer information to resolve classification disputes.

Enquiries about the review should be directed to Industrial Officer, Lisa White lisaw@hacsu.asn.au or 9340 4100.
